Caption: colour enhanced sagittal (from the side) T1 weighted MRI through the lateral aspect of the knee at the level of the fibula. You can see a small portion of the patella (knee cap - coloured teal), the distal femur (blue), the fibula (yellow), proximal tibia (light red) and the anterior and posterior horns of the lateral meniscus (red). The meniscus (articular fibrocartilage -red) is normal in appearance. The quadriceps tendon and the patella tendon are seen attached to the patella.
