False-colour version of an engraving of a standing human figure, the third plate of the muscles of De Humani Corporis Fabrica (On the Structure of the Human Body) by Andreas Vesalius, first published in 1543. The frontal figure is set against a background of the whole Earth in a field of stars. Regarding the original engraving, there is some debate as to the identity of the artist. Some scholars believe Titian may have been involved and Jan van Kalkar & Domenico Campagnola are regarded as having contributed.
