Caption: Limbic system. Four coloured illustrations of the human brain highlighting structures of the limbic system. The limbic system governs activities such as fear, rage, pleasure, reproduction and self- preservation. The oval structure of each image is the thalamus. Above this is the large C- shaped corpus callosum. Around this are the folded convolutions of the cerebrum, the most highly developed part of the brain involved in conscious thought. At lower right of each image is the cerebellum, part of the hind-brain which coordinates muscle action and body posture. These illustrations are in "Andy Warhol" style.
