Caption: Human brain. Computer artwork of a healthy human brain, viewed from above. The external anatomy of the cerebral hemispheres (left & right) is seen here. The front of the brain is at top. The cerebrum is the largest, most developed region of the brain. Composed of highly folded convolutions, it is involved in higher conscious thought, speech, language and memory. Although the cerebral hemispheres are symmetrical in appearance, one hemisphere is usually dominant in the control of some higher activities such as speech or writing. For example, in right handed people, the left side is dominant.
