Caption: Caudate nucleus of the brain, coloured 3-D magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan. The brain is seen from the front, with the caudate nuclei in orange. The caudate nucleus is a structure of the striatum of the basal ganglia of the brain. The basal ganglia are responsible for processing information from the rest of the brain, which enters the basal ganglia through the striatum. The other part of the striatum is the lenticular nucleus, comprising the putamen and pallidum. The basal ganglia are thought to be involved in learning and movement.
