Caption: 3-D magnetic resonance image (MRI) of a normal adult brain. The cerebrum, the bulk of the brain tissue, appears in red, with the cerebellum, the centre of balance & coordination in a lighter shade at bottom. The fluid-filled ventricles in the centre of the brain appear in white & grey. The hippocampus, a part of the limbic system, involved in emotional response & memory, is in yellow. This image was made as a control in studies of structural changes that occur in schizophrenia. Compare with M260/095, a similar scan of a schizophrenic patient.
