Caption: Brain in head. Coloured three-dimensional magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) scan of a human head cut- away to reveal part of a healthy brain. The fluid- filled ventricles (green) lie in the centre of the brain. To their left is the C-shaped corpus callosum (yellow), which connects the two halves of the cerebrum. The cerebrum (yellow), the largest part of the brain, controls conscious brain activity. MRI scanners use pulses of radio waves to build "slice" images of the human body which are then compiled into a three-dimensional image by computer.
