Caption: This is a colourized sagittal (lateral) view of what the normal brain looks like, created from a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan. Most of the structure in the upper part of the image is the cerebral hemisphere (one side of the brain - purple). This is composed of the frontal, parietal and occipital lobes from left to right in the image. The yellow structure is the corpus callosum which is a tract of white matter connecting the two halves of the brain in the center. The small green structure is the pineal gland. The orange is the cerebellum.
