Caption: Daffodil. A flower head of the daffodil, Narcissus pseudonarcissus. A wide variety of daffodils have been developed by plant breeders. The standard flower has six petals-like sepals, six united petals forming a cup-shaped crown, six stamens, and a solitary pistil. Usually the flowers are white or yellow, but a combination of these and darker orange or red colours have been bred. The daffodil is a bulbous herb of the amaryllis family.
