Grey matter is made up of huge numbers of nerve cells (dark brown particles) together with their processes (brown lines in groups), supported by a system of neuroglial cells (white, with dark nuclei). White matter contains many neuroglial cells, together with nerve cell processes (brown lines, radially arranged).
