Caption: This coronal (frontal) CT image through the paranasal sinuses demonstrates a normal, patent osteomeatal complex which represents the major functional pathway for drainage of the paranasal sinuses. Much of the surgery presently performed on patients with sinus disease is aimed at restoring the function of the osteomeatal complex. This image also shows mild deviation of the nasal septum.
