Caption: Eye. Artwork of a healthy human eyeball and its muscles (red). The movements of each eye are controlled by six muscles. Light enters the eye through the cornea (far left), the eye's main light-focusing structure. The iris (brown, centre left) contracts or relaxes to allow the ideal amount of light through the pupil, the iris' central hole. The light is finely focused by the lens (not seen), before hitting the light- sensitive retina (also not seen) that lines the back of the eyeball.
