Caption: False-colour computed X-ray tomography (CT) scan of an axial section through a normal abdomen. The liver is at left (red & yellow), its upper part obscured by the gall bladder (in green). The left kidney appears as the red, U- shaped feature at bottom right; above it, in yellow & green is the tail of the pancreas. The large, bony body of a vertebra, coloured red & white, is at bottom centre. The red & yellow circular object above & to the right of the vertebra is the abdominal aorta, the principal artery in the body.
