Caption: Fallopian tube. Coloured scanning electron micrograph (SEM) of the folded mucosal lining of a fallopian tube (oviduct). The fallopian tubes are the muscular tubes through which ova (eggs, the female sex cells) pass from the ovaries to the uterus following ovulation. The wave-like motion of the numerous cilia (hair-like projections) moves the eggs along the tubes. Magnification unknown.
