Caption: Sweet pea (Lathyrus odoratus 'Cupani'). The wild Sweet Pea is from Sicily. In 1699, Father Cupani in Sicily sent seeds to Dr Robert Uvedale in Enfield, who was a collector of many unusual plants. It is from those seeds that all our present day Sweet Peas have developed.
