Caption: Navel. Close-up of a pregnant woman's navel or belly button, which is also known as the umbilicus. The faint brown line, running down from the navel, is called a linea nigra. It occurs mostly in darker-skinned women during the second trimester of pregnancy. The line appears along a faint white line (linea alba) that most women posess but few are aware of.
