Thermogram of a man. Thermogram of the body of a standing man. A thermogram records the infrared radiation that is given off by the skin as a measure of its temperature. The colours represent the temperature of the body, with white being the hottest, through to yellow, red, blue and green as the coolest areas. Skin temperature may reflect the volume of blood supply across parts of the body, and can highlight a variety of circulatory dysfunctions, inflammation and occasionally tumours.
