Caption: Gamma camera scan (scintigram) showing the concentration of a radioactive tracer in the stomach (purple, right) and the liver (purple, left). Both organs are normal. The image was recorded with the person resting, when tracer uptake is stronger than in an active body. The radioactive tracer used, Thallium-201, is often used to examine muscle tissue, in particular the cardiac (heart) muscle.
