Caption: Diogenite meteorite. This is an achondrite, a type of stony meteorite similar to the igneous rocks found on Earth. This sample is one of several meteorite fragments found in the Sahara Desert, near Tatahouine, Tunisia, following a meteorite impact on 27 June 1931. This sample weighs 97.9 grams. It measures 4.5 by 4 by 3 centimetres in size.
