Octahedrite meteorite, a type of iron meteorite. This one consists of a mineral called siderite, and is further classified as a IIAB iron meteorite. This fragment is from a meteorite impact that took place on 12 February 1947 in the USSR, near Shikote-Alin, eastern Siberia, Russia. The sample weighs 632 grams. It measures 11 by 6 by 3 centimetres in size.
