Caption: Pallasite meteorite, a type of stony-iron meteorite that consists of grains of olivine (yellow) in an iron matrix. This sample has been cut open and polished. The sample comes from a meteorite that was found in 1951 near Esquel, Chubut, Argentina. This sample weighs 145.4 grams. It is a thin section, measuring 13 by 12 centimetres in size.
