Caption: Musk mallow flower. Macrophotograph of a musk mallow flower (Malva moschata alba) showing its reproductive parts. Several stigmas are visible at upper centre (dark pink), bearing the female styles. Around their bases are the flower's anthers (beige), bearing the pollen, the male part of the flower. Flowers are fertilised when pollen lands on the styles, and the male cell travels down the style to the ovary. The musk mallow is a hardy plant commonly used in gardens. Magnification: x1.9 at 35mm size.
