Caption: Begonia flower. Macrophotograph of raindrops around the reproductive parts of a male begonia flower (Begonia sp.). The yellow parts at right are the stamens, which hold the pollen, the male sex cells. Male and female begonia flowers are separate, but are borne on the same plant. Begonias originated in the humid forests of northern South America, but have been introduced all over the world for their decorative flowers. Thousands of hybrids have been bred for ornamental use. Magnification unknown.
