Caption: Orion Nebula, infrared image. The massive Trapezium stars (centre) are part of a group of very young stars that form the nebula's core, illuminating surrounding gas and dust. The nebula lies around 1500 light years away in the constellation of Orion. This is a composite of images taken on 14 March 2000 by the 3.5-metre New Technology Telescope (NTT) at La Silla, Chile.***.
