Caption: Optical photograph of M67 (NGC 2682), an open star cluster which lies some 2500 light years away in the constellation of Cancer. The cluster contains aproximately 500 stars and is about 12 light years across. One of the oldest clusters known, M67 is believed to be around 10 billion years old. The photograph was taken with the four- metre Mayall telescope at Kitt Peak National Observatory in Arizona.
