Caption: HD 46375 b planet. Artwork of the extrasolar planet HD 46375 b (at left) with an ejected ring particle in the foreground. Its red giant star is seen at upper frame. The star (HD 46375) lies 109 light years away in the constellation Monoceros. The planet is thought to be similar to Saturn. It has a mass about 83% that of Saturn (80 times that of Earth). It orbits 6 million kilometres from the star, one orbit taking only three days. The planet's presence was inferred in March 2000 after observing the star's wobble as it moved through space, caused by the orbiting planet. Also seen is a red dwarf associated with the system (lower right) and the Rosette Nebula (lower far right).
