Caption: 70 Virginis B planet. Computer illustration of the giant extrasolar planet 70 Virginis B seen from the surface of a hypothetical moon. The planet orbits around 70 Virginis, a Sun-like star which lies 59 light years from Earth in the constellation Virgo. The presence of this huge planet, with a mass 6.6 times that of Jupiter, was inferred from the wobble its orbit imparts to the star's motion through space. 70 Virginis B has a highly eccentric orbit, travelling around its star in just under 117 days at an average distance of around 64 million kilometres.
