Caption: Barred spiral galaxy NGC 1530. Coloured optical image of the barred spiral galaxy NGC 1530. The spiral arms radiate from the ends of the central bar-like structure, rather than from the nucleus as in spiral galaxies. NGC 1530 is one of the largest barred spiral galaxies in the northern skies, found in the constellation Camelopardalis, The Giraffe. This image was taken by the 4-metre telescope, Kitt Peak National Observatory, USA.
