This galaxy is a member of the Local Group of galaxies, including our Milky Way galaxy, that are gravitationally- bound together. It lies around 1.6 million light years from Earth in the constellation Sagittarius. This image was obtained by the use of the 4-metre telescope at CTIO (the Cerro Tololo Inter-American Observatory), Chile.
