Caption: Spiral galaxy NGC 6118, Melipal Very Large Telescope image. This galaxy is located 80 million light years away in the constellation Serpens. The bright blue star in the galaxy just above centre is a supernova (supernova 2004dk), a star that is exploding at the end of its life.
