Caption: Merging galaxy system. Combined visible light and infrared image of the centre of ESO202-G23, a merging galaxy system. The larger nucleus (centre) is very energetic and probably contains a black hole. To lower right is a blue cluster of young stars. This image was made with the 8.2m Very Large Telescope 'Antu' at the Cerro Paranal Observatory, Chile.
