Caption: Gravitational lensing. Near-infrared image of a gravitationally lensed quasar MG0414+0534. The gravitational field of a foreground galaxy (centre) distorts and magnifies the image of a background quasar forming three bright spots. This image was made using the 8.2-metre Very Large Telescope 'Antu' at the Cerro Paranal Observatory, Chile.
