Caption: Museum model of the Mir space station interior. Mir was launched by the USSR in February 1986 and spent 15 years in orbit around the Earth, being used to carry out numerous scientific experiments. After it was abandoned, it was deorbited on 23 March 2001, breaking-up over the Pacific Ocean. This display is part of the Korolev Rocket and Space Museum, in Moscow, Russia.
