Caption: NASA's official emblem for the historic Apollo 11 mission, the first manned lunar landing mission. The Apollo 11 crew were Neil A. Armstrong (commander), Michael Collins (command module pilot) and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin (lunar module pilot). Launched on 16 July 1969, the lunar module, carrying Armstrong and Aldrin, touched down on the Moon on 20 July. Collins remained in lunar orbit in the Command and Services Module.
