Caption: The Apollo 11 Command and Service Module being prepared for launch at the Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA. Launched on 16 July 1969, Apollo 11 was the first manned lunar landing mission. The crew members were Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins and Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the Moon in the Lunar Module on 20 July, whilst Collins remained in lunar orbit in the Command & Service Module.
