Caption: Astronaut on the lunar rover. Mission commander David Scott driving the Lunar Roving Vehicle (LRV). This 4-wheel drive electrical vehicle was used for the first time on the Moon, and covered a total of 28 kilometres. The solar wind collector (far right), a camera (centre) and lunar surface maps (hanging in front of Scott) can be seen. Photographed during the Apollo 15 mission of 1971 (26 July to 7 August).
