Caption: Neil Armstrong, commander of the Apollo 11 mission, by the modular equipment storage assembly (MESA) on the lunar module on the Moon's surface. Armstrong became the first human to walk on the Moon on the 21st July 1969. This photograph was taken by Edwin "Buzz" Aldrin. The majority of photographs from Apollo 11 were taken by Armstrong, so he himself appears in only a few.
