Caption: Damage to Space Shuttle Endeavour's heat tiles following mission STS-118 (8th to 21st August 2007). This is a view of the underside of Endeavour taken after its landing at NASA's Kennedy Space Center, Florida, USA. The damage to the tiles occurred due to impact from a piece of foam that fell from the external fuel tank during launch on 8th August. This incident is similar to the damage that is thought to have caused the loss of the Space Shuttle Columbia in February 2003.
