Caption: Moment of disaster as a flash of flame appears between the space shuttle Challenger & one of its booster rockets on January 28, 1986. The disaster occurred 73 seconds after lift-off as a result of a failure of one of the O-rings in a seal on the booster rocket. A subsequent leakage of fuel triggered the explosion which killed all seven crew members. Picture ref. 1-86-51L-10167
