Caption: International Space Station (ISS), 16th February 2001. A newly-added module, the space laboratory Destiny (lower left, cylindrical), is seen with a docking unit (PMA-2, dark cone) at one end. The bottom to top sequence of modules continues through Unity, Zarya and Zvezda. Arrays of solar panels surround the ISS, providing power. Destiny was installed during mission STS-98, flown by the Space Shuttle Atlantis. The ISS is a joint effort between NASA, ESA, the Russian space agency, Canada, Japan and Brazil. It orbits at an altitude of 350 kilometres and will be over 100 metres in length. It has been manned since late 2000 and is scheduled for completion in 2004.
