Caption: ISS transport. Soyuz capsule orbiting the Earth on its approach to the International Space Station (ISS, not seen) on 20 October 2003. The capsule is named TMA-3. It was part of the Cervantes Mission to replace the Soyuz capsule that serves as the emergency escape craft for the ISS. TMA-3 brought an ESA astronaut for a short stay and also rotated the ISS crew. The departing astronauts returned to Earth in the old Soyuz capsule, TMA-2. The Russian Soyuz craft are being used because the Columbia disaster grounded the American space shuttles. *** THIS PICTURE MAY NOT BE USED TO STATE OR IMPLY ESA ENDORSEMENT OF ANY COMPANY OR PRODUCT ***
