Caption: Mark Shuttleworth, space tourist, on the International Space Station (ISS). Shuttleworth is entering the Zarya module's Pressurized Mating Adapter (PMA). PMAs are used to interconnect spacecraft and modules with different docking mechanisms. Shuttleworth joined the Russian passenger transportation craft, Soyuz TM-34, as a space flight participant, paying US$ 20 million for the priviledge. While on board however, he spent eight days participating in experiments related to AIDS and genome research. The craft docked with the Zarya module on 27 April 2002 and undocked on 9 November 2002.
