Caption: Voskhod 2 crew training in March 1965, before their launch into Earth orbit later that month. Soviet cosmonauts Pavel Belyayev (1925-1970, centre) and Alexei Leonov (born 1934, right) formed the 2-man Voskhod crew. Belyayev was the mission commander, while Leonov became famous for performing the world's first space walk, on 18 March 1965, during this mission. Soviet cosmonaut Yuri Gagarin (1934-1968, left, in uniform) is famous for being the first man in space during his flight into space nearly four years earlier on 12 April 1961. Photographed at a cosmonaut training centre in the Moscow region of Russia.
