Caption: Soyuz spacecraft. View of a Russian Soyuz-TM spacecraft, photographed from a US Space Shuttle. This is an almost head-on view, with the crew compartment (black) closest to the camera. Behind this is the main body of the spacecraft (white) with its two large solar panels stretched out. The Soyuz-TM spacecraft is used to ferry crews to and from the Mir space station. This photo was taken during the historic STS-71/Mir-18 mission of 27 June to 7 July 1995, when Shuttle Atlantis docked with Mir in the first US/Russian joint space flight for twenty years.
