Caption: UFOs from World War II, computer artwork. Several reports of glowing spheres were reported by pilots and sailors from World War II aircraft and ships. They were named Foo Fighters. While such reports were never satisfactorily explained, it is likely that they were optical illusions associated with other aircraft, an unknown atmospheric phenomenon, or a known phenomenon such as ball lightning.
