Caption: Allium (Allium sp.) globular seedhead. This member of the onion and garlic family produces dramatic globe-like flowerheads made up of many small star- shaped flowers which are shed to reveal the seeds (as displayed here). The plant can grow up to one and a half metres tall, and has an unpleasant onion-like scent. Photographed at Rosemoor in Devon, England.
