Caption: Nuclear fuel pellets. These pellets are made from uranium dioxide. The pellets will be loaded into fuel rods and then used in a nuclear reactor to create a controlled nuclear reaction and generate electricity. These pellets were produced at the Novosibirsk Chemical Concentrate Works, Russia. Novosibirsk is in southern Siberia, near Russia's border with Central Asia. Photographed on 17 August 2006.
