Caption: Pinot noir grapes. Bunches of pinot noir wine grapes on a vine, Vitis vinifera, around the time of the autumn harvest. These grapes are usually grown to produce red wine and also champagne. The different colour of the leaves are caused by the seasonal breakdown of the green pigment chlorophyll, which masks these colours for the rest of the year. Photographed at Williamette Valley, Oregon, USA.
