It is equipped with a colour camera, all-terrain caterpillar tyres and a telescopic arm with grabbing pincer. The robot is designed to be agile in rough terrain and to dispose of dangerous objects, such as bombs. Robots such as the HD-1 are known as Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) vehicles.
