Caption: AUR robot desk lamp. This robot lamp contains sensors that detect movement and responds by moving in a direction that will provide light at the appropriate angle and distance for the user. It was designed by Guy Hoffman, from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) Personal Robots Group at the MIT Media Lab, USA. The AUR consists of a 5-degrees-of-freedom robot arm with a desk lamp attached at the end. The lamp is able to change colours and brightness using a diaphragm shutter.
